The enlightened French writer and philosopher Voltaire once wrote that, “Nothing is better known than the Siege of Malta.”
On Tuesday 20th May, Heritage Malta is inviting you to widen your knowledge on this epic chapter of Maltese history - celebrating its 460th anniversary this year - with an exclusive evening curator’s tour at Fort St Angelo in Birgu. The fort was the main stronghold of the defenders during the bloodied siege.
Hear the tales of bravery and heroism, and learn more about the role that Fort St Angelo played during the siege which shattered the Ottomans' reputation of invincibility and ended with Malta’s victory on the 8th of September 1565.
